Winter season is full of festivals, celebrations, engagements, weddings and we often end up with a bloated tummy and snapped energy. The devil is the fattier, sugar-laden and fried foods that do the rounds during festivities. The need of the hour is to strengthen the immune system with a detox programme. There are certain foods that have detoxifying properties. Including these in the diet will cleanse the system and leave you rejuvenated.

WATER: This elixir of life works wonders when you are exhausted. Water has no calories and is needed for most body functions. The amount of water needed depends on a person’s daily activities.

CORIANDER: It is rich in micronutrients and fibre. Its medicinal properties have been documented in Sanskrit and Greek writings. Include this powerful anti-oxidant in your daily meals, either as chutney or garnish. It is a good source of calcium and also helps in thinning the blood.

GREEN/BLACK or RED TEA: Tea is one of the most valued and widely consumed drinks in the world. It is delicious and has zero calories. It is an anti-oxidant, helps in metabolism, slows ageing, cleanses the liver and protects against headaches.
