Whole grain foods- Whole grain foods such as pasta, bread, cereal, and rice are abundant in nutrients and fibres. Whole grain foods lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and obesity. Adding whole grain foods to your daily diet helps in managing overall weight of a thyroid patient.

Drink plenty of water- A patient with thyroid disorder is recommended to drink at least 10 glasses of water daily. Water speeds up the process of metabolism and ensures proper digestion of food. Water can also reduce the effects of bloating and helps in the retention of fluids. The fluoride and chlorine present in the water can block the iodine receptors in the thyroid.
